There is an art form to slowing down the mind  while practicing the piano. In the Stillpoint Piano Method, we use a technique called lucid learning to help achieve balance between mind and body. In the lucid learning state, one experiences a deep sense of relaxation and a quieting of the mind. This stillness of the mind heightens multi-sensory awareness which enables a student to unlock their true potential.  Multi-sensory awareness also alllows students to journey deeper within themselves.
 
What makes the Stillpoint Piano Method so unique is that the program is designed to work more effectively and efficiently with the sub-conscious mind. You learn to practice the piano in a more meditative state.   Through slow and contemplative piano practicing, you can achieve better mind and body balance.   The Stillpoint techniques enable you to deepen your level of musical expression while enjoying a holistic learning experience at the piano. 
 
Eastern disciplines have inspired many of the developments of the Stillpoint Piano Method.  If you have a background in tai chi, qi gong, yoga, or meditation,  you will find many characteristics of the Stillpoint Method  familiar and stimulating.
